This past weekend hubby and I took a drive up to Diamond Bar, California. Not many people may have heard of Diamond Bar, it’s a city just a little bit further north than Brea and Chino Hills. Diamond Bar has some really beautiful homes and is definitely an older suburb compared to Irvine or Newport.
On our visit to Diamond Bar, we were going to visit the Diamond Fresh Farmers Market. Diamond Fresh Farmers Market is an indoor/outdoor fruit and vegetable market, which also has a selection of fresh flowers, plants, pots, and also a small inside grocery store. Diamond Fresh Farmers Market has a big selection of ethnic foods too! So if you are looking to stock up on different varieties of rice or lentils for cheap, this is the place to go. Let me tell you, this place was a gold mine! You can also find a variety of chocolates and candies from different countries, namely Kinder Bars!
The fruit and vegetable selection was pretty much everything you could ever want to cook- the biggest deal we found were the 5 pound bags of Idaho potatoes being sold for 79 cents. No that is not a typo. We also decided to stock up on broccoli, peppers, green beans, and carrots, because heck- they were all so cheap compared to our regular grocery store- so now our freezer is pretty much stocked up for a month or so!
We went on a Sunday afternoon, and it was difficult to find a parking spot, so you may want to consider going early in the day, or going during the week. Diamond Fresh Farmers Market only accepts credit cards for purchases over $10, so if you plan to spend less than that, bring cash.
Also, there is a juice and smoothie bar in which you can have juice squeezed fresh as you wait.
Be sure to head over to Diamond Fresh Farmers Market for some smokin’ hot deals on produce, it’s definitely worth the drive over there, besides, Diamond Bar is such a cute town!
