Hot Apple Cider with Rum Recipe
This Hot Apple Cider with Rum Recipe is just the thing to get you into the holiday spirit. There’s nothing better to soothe your soul this holiday season than a hot cup of spicy apple cider with a little rum. This tried-and-true classic is the best holiday punch ever! Feel free to double or triple the recipe depending on the size of your gathering, and keep the cider simmering on the stove top as the party is going, to fill your house with its delicious aroma.
For the Apple Cider base, I used the “Honey Crisp” variety found at Trader Joes, which uses 100% Honeycrisp Apples from the state of Washington. This cider is crisp and tart, and just sweet enough to keep you coming back for more. Another brand I’ve used in the past is Zeigler’s which you can find at your local Kroger Store. If you happen to make your own apple juice using apples you happened to pick from a local orchard, you can also use your own pressed homemade apple juice as the base for this recipe.
When choosing your rum variety, go with your favorite brand, whether that be Captain Morgan, Bacardi, or Pampero. May this holiday season be merry and bright, and be sure to keep the apple cider flowing!
Hot Apple Cider on a cold day is just the thing to hit the spot this Thanksgiving!
